In Barabanki district, an unfortunate incident unfolded on Friday, resulting in the demise of a man and two juveniles, as a speeding truck callously struck them down, as reported by the local authorities. The young passengers, aged 5 and 8, were precariously perched on the pillion when this tragic collision occurred.
In the aftermath of this harrowing event, Chief Executive Yogi Adityanath swiftly issued directives to the district officials, urging them to extend all conceivable support and aid to the grieving family.
According to police sources, the ill-fated Neeraj Yadav from the village of Sumerganj was navigating the roads with his daughter Yogita (8) and niece Vartika (5) at approximately 8 am when the colossal truck forcefully collided with them from the rear, near the Bani Kondar block situated within the jurisdiction of the Ram Sanehi Ghat police station. Regrettably, the two young girls met their demise instantaneously, while Neeraj suffered grave injuries, as relayed by the authorities.
Promptly, Neeraj was transported to a local district hospital. Given the gravity of his injuries, he was subsequently transferred to the esteemed King George’s Medical University in Lucknow, where, regrettably, he succumbed to the severity of his wounds.
The lifeless bodies have been dispatched for post-mortem analysis, and law enforcement has taken the involved truck into custody. A meticulous investigation is currently in progress, as confirmed by official statements.
