In the precincts of Ballia, a fervent agriculturist from a hamlet nestled in the confines of Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district presented himself at the domicile of the district magistrate bearing his parcel of husk and cereals, entreating the authorities to procure them and earmark the proceeds as his earnest surety.
An air of intrigue enveloped the room as all eyes converged upon the sight of a tiller, standing in line with his bundle aloft, stationed afore the district magistrate’s abode in Ballia on the eve of the Sabbath. A sundry throng had congregated at the magisterial quarters, each one bearing their litany of grievances and predicaments. Yet, the sight of a rustic figure, bedecked with his load, piqued the interest of onlookers.
Inquisitive minds probed the purpose behind his presence, and Naveen Kumar Rai, a denizen of Patkhauli village within the jurisdiction of Sukhpura police precinct, articulated his aspiration to vie for electoral office and champion the cause of bovine welfare. Thus, he ventured forth to the magistrate’s domicile, beseeching the authorities to procure his harvest and remnants, thereby facilitating the allocation of funds for his electoral campaign. He professed his intent to formalize his candidacy alongside his bovine companions, deeming himself their emissary.
The district magistrate, Ravindra Kumar, was engrossed in hearing the grievances of the populace when the sentinel on duty attempted to deter the farmer from gaining entry. Undeterred, the farmer avowed that he would not depart until he had tendered his petition to the magistrate. His resolve secured him an audience with Kumar.
In his missive, the farmer articulated his desire to espouse the cause of bovine welfare and expressed his eagerness to vie for public office. He apprised the magistrate of his decision to furnish samples of his yield and remnants for the authorities’ scrutiny, with the intent that they may procure the stores amassed at his domicile.
The farmer beseeched Kumar to purchase his remnants and harvest, citing their proceeds as vital to his electoral aspirations. He even volunteered to convey the harvest via a tractor and the remnants atop a mule, should the need arise.
The farmer’s entreaty elicited a smile from the magistrate, who proffered assurances to Rai that his nomination would indeed find favor.
