In the electoral domain of Noida/Ghaziabad, approximately 60 percent of aspirants for the Lok Sabha elections in Ghaziabad and nearly 56 percent in Gautam Buddh Nagar faced disqualification following meticulous review, as per local authorities. Within Ghaziabad, a total of 35 contenders submitted their candidacies, with only 14 receiving the nod, as per the official communication from the district’s electoral office.

Across the border in Gautam Buddh Nagar, the electoral office disclosed having received submissions from 34 hopefuls, with 15 passing the rigorous scrutiny. The amalgamated submissions from the two constituencies amounted to 69, of which 40 were deemed ineligible. The disqualification rate in Ghaziabad reached 60 percent, whereas in Gautam Buddh Nagar it hovered around 55.89 percent, according to official data.

Remaining contenders vying for the parliamentary seat in Ghaziabad include Atul Garg from the BJP, Dolly Sharma from the Congress, Nand Kishor Pundir from the BSP, Anand Kumar from the Rashtra Nirman Party, Anshul Gupta from the Rashtriya Jan Karmath Party, Dhirendra Singh Bhadauria from the Subhashwadi Bhartiya Samajwadi Party, Jagdish Yadav from the Samaj Vikas Kranti Party, and Pooja from the Right to Recall Party.

Moreover, six independent candidates, namely Abhishek Pundir, Avdesh Kumar, Aurangjev, Kavita, Natthu Singh Chaudhary, and Ravi Kumar Panchal, remain in contention as per the official roster.

In Gautam Buddh Nagar, the contenders still in the race encompass Mahesh Sharma from the BJP, Mahendra Singh Nagar from the Samajwadi Party, Rajendra Singh Solanki from the BSP, Rajeev Mishra representing the Jai Hind National Party, Naresh Nautiyal from the Bhartiya Rashtriya Jansatta, Manish Kumar Dwivedi from the Akhil Bhartiya Parivar Party, Ran Singh Dudee from the Super Power India Party, Narvadeshwar from the Subhashwadi Bhartiya Samajwadi Party, Kishor Singh from the National Party, Bhim Prakash Jigyasu from the Viron ke Vir Indian Party, and Km Shalu from the Loktantrik Janshakti Party.

Independent contenders Parag Kaushik, Mahkar Singh, Mohd Mumtaj Aalam, and Shivam Ashutosh are contending for the electoral mantle in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The deadline for withdrawal of candidacies in both Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar is April 8, with the polling scheduled for April 26. These two constituencies in western Uttar Pradesh command an aggregate electorate of approximately 55 lakh.
