In a spectacle of interfaith concord and amity, Iqbal Ansari, a former litigant in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid imbroglio, was observed partaking in the festivities of Holi alongside the venerable saints and ascetics in Ayodhya on the day of Saturn. He rejoiced in the revelry with Mahant Paramhans Acharya, the esteemed leader of Tapasvi Cantonment.
Amidst the jubilant revelry, vermilion powder was generously exchanged amidst melodic strains and rhythmic dances. The commencement of Holi in the sacred precincts of Ayodhya coincides with the advent of Basant Panchami. This year, the festivity has assumed heightened significance in the holy city following the sanctification of the deity Ram Lalla on the twenty-second day of January.
“This marks the inaugural celebration of Holi in Ayodhya, the hallowed birthplace of Lord Ram, subsequent to His sanctification. The erstwhile discord surrounding the Ram Temple has now been assuaged, paving the way for a collective observance of Holi. Hence, we commemorated this auspicious occasion within the temple premises. Our intent is to propagate the ethos of harmony between Hindus and Muslims, exemplifying our cherished Ganga-Jamuna culture,” articulated Acharya.
He elucidated that Holi epitomizes the vibrant spectrum of colors as well as the confluence of diverse faiths. Emphasizing the inclusivity of the festival, he remarked on its joint celebration with the Muslim community.
Ansari underscored the enduring tradition spanning generations. “Holi embodies the syncretism of diverse faiths. Together with Acharya Paramahamsa, we partake in the festivity. This year, the commemoration assumes profound significance as we extend a warm reception to Ram Lalla in Ayodhya,” expressed Ansari.
