In Prayagraj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated on Tuesday that the opposition Congress and the Samajwadi Party have engaged in a contest of appeasing their electoral base, branding both factions as “anti-progress.” “The SP and Congress prioritize their electoral base over the sacred gathering of Kumbh,” he declared, delivering a speech in the locale renowned for the Kumbh mela and the ‘Triveni Sangam’.
“This electoral bout of 2024 shall chart the course upon which the Triveni of India’s destiny shall navigate,” Modi proclaimed. The premier asserted that the constituents of the INDIA block struggle to embrace accolades of India on foreign soil. He appended that India now boasts recognition for its expressways and infrastructure. Modi voiced these sentiments while addressing the gathering in Prayagraj, rallying support for BJP contender Neeraj Tripathi.
The principal contention in Allahabad resides between Neeraj Tripathi, scion of former West Bengal governor and Uttar Pradesh Assembly speaker Keshari Nath Tripathi, and Ujjwal Ram Singh, offspring of erstwhile Samajwadi Party luminary and Rajya Sabha MP Reoti Raman Singh. The balloting in the Allahabad Lok Sabha constituency is slated for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election on May 25.
