Amidst the ambience of Haridwar, JP Nadda, the BJP chief, vehemently criticized Rahul Gandhi, a notable figure of the Congress, for what he perceived as the exploitation of religion during electoral seasons.
“There exist individuals who frequent sacred places and don the ‘janeu’ (the sacred thread) during electoral campaigns, lacking even a rudimentary understanding of its significance, merely for the sake of leveraging religious sentiments,” Nadda articulated, seemingly directing his remarks towards Gandhi without explicit mention.
Speaking before an assembly of venerable saints and sages, Nadda extended his support to Trivendra Singh Rawat, the BJP nominee and former chief executive of the region, vying for the Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency.
Nadda also censured the representatives of the INDIA coalition for their disparaging attitude towards the ancient traditions of Sanatan Dharma, asserting that there is no room for anti-Sanatanis within the nation’s fabric.
“The associates of the coalition lack the courage to denounce those who deride Sanatan. Will you bestow upon them your benedictions?” he questioned. Nadda underscored the endeavors undertaken by the Modi administration in service to Sanatan Dharma.
He elaborated on the erection of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the restoration and rejuvenation of numerous temples across the nation during the past decade.
Furthermore, he highlighted the efforts to revive temples that fell victim to the onslaught of militants in Jammu and Kashmir. Nadda solicited the endorsement of the populace for another term for Narendra Modi as the premier, to aid him in his political crusade for societal advancement.
“This heralds the awakening of Sanatan. This epoch belongs to India. Your devout support and blessings will fortify Modi in the political skirmish he wages for the nation’s progress and the well-being of all,” Nadda proclaimed.
Mahendra Bhatt, the BJP’s provincial leader, alongside former chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Haridwar legislator Madan Kaushik, graced the occasion.
Nadda commenced his day by offering prayers at the Maa Mayadevi and Bhairon temples. Juna Peethadhishwar Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Awadheshanand Giri presided over the rituals for Nadda and conducted the yagya rites.
The saints bestowed upon Nadda a trident, imparting their blessings to the BJP for triumph amidst the resounding chants of “Abki baar 400 paar.” They credited Haridwar as the origin of the movement for Ram Janmabhoomi, stating that the fulfillment of its objective with the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
They asserted that the endorsement of Prime Minister Modi for a third term from the land of the Gods would ensure the BJP’s triumph. Subsequently, Nadda led a procession through the sacred town and addressed a gathering at Rishikul Maidan, denouncing the INDIA coalition as a consortium of venal and nepotistic factions.
In his critique, he targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress stalwarts Sonia Gandhi and P Chidambaram, noting their entanglement in legal issues.
“While AAP’s Sanjay Singh secured release from confinement on Thursday, Kejriwal remains in custody. Prime Minister Modi is dedicated to eradicating corruption, whereas the INDIA coalition is focused on shielding the corrupt,” Nadda remarked. “Dynastic politics has precipitated the crisis in Congress. The alliance is devoid of any commitment to the nation’s advancement; their sole concern lies in self-preservation,” he added. The expanse of the two-kilometer-long procession from Aryanagar to Rishikul witnessed an enthusiastic turnout.
