In Noida, a fire ignited within a storage facility in Sector 5 on Friday evening, likely triggered by a potential gas escape, according to the Noida chief fire officer. Swift action ensued as eight fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to suppress the conflagration.
Dense plumes of smoke billowed from the depot. Speaking with ANI, Pradeep Kumar, the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of Noida, remarked, “We received the alert at 7:43 p.m. regarding a blaze at a storage facility in Harola village, Noida Sector-5. The cause of the fire appears to be a gas leak. Our brigade was promptly deployed to manage the inferno. Initial challenges arose during the operation, as the marketplace remained open.”
Kumar noted that eight fire engines reached the site to contain the blaze. “Senior authorities cleared civilians from the vicinity and requested local vendors to close up shop. Our fire engines arrived shortly after and successfully quelled the fire using all eight vehicles,” the CFO elaborated.
He added that there were no reported injuries from the fire. “The incident is suspected to have originated from a gas leak, causing a gas cylinder to rupture. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities in this occurrence,” the CFO noted.
