Defense minister Rajnath Singh proclaimed the imminent unveiling of the 104-kilometer Lucknow outer ring road come March. During the scrutiny on Tuesday, he surveyed the ongoing endeavors of the quadruplicate carriageway, accompanied by Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, city mayor Sushma Kharakwal, and MLCs Mahendra Singh and Mukesh Sharma.
In his discourse with the media, Singh elucidated that his foray into representing Lucknow in 2014 ignited a resolve to assuage the pervasive traffic quandaries within the city, precipitating the proposition of the eight-lane project. “The denouement of February shall witness the culmination of the ring road’s construction, with its public inauguration slated for March.”
The construction of the exterior circuitous route unfolds in five distinct segments. The tranche spanning from Sultanpur to Behta achieved completion at a fiscal outlay of ₹1,062 crore. The stretch from Behta to Sitapur Road, an expanse of 32 kilometers, undertaken at a cost of ₹981 crore, nears finalization at an impressive 96%, as per official statements. The extant endeavors on the Kakori Railway Overbridge, the Sitapur Road Flyover approach, and the Lucknow-Agra Expressway flyover approach are all anticipated to culminate by the terminus of February, as delineated in an official communique.
