In the precincts of Mendhar in Jammu, military forces discharged a couple of rounds towards a Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) proximate to the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. This event unfolded on the preceding night of Sunday, where the said drone, fleetingly suspending over Indian terrain, ultimately retreated to the Pakistani expanse.
Authorities reported the detection of the adversarial UAV’s movement in the Nar Mankote locality of Mendhar. In response, the vigilant troops stationed at the LoC unleashed a volley of at least three shots to compel its descent. In the face of this counteraction by the Indian forces, the drone retracted to the Pakistani domain. Concurrently, an ongoing search operation is in progress within the region.
Noteworthy is the recent pronouncement by the Jammu and Kashmir police, offering a monetary reward of Rs 3 lakh to individuals divulging information on UAVs originating from the bordering nation. The incentive is directed towards incidents involving the use of drones for the illicit transportation of narcotics, weaponry, or explosive materials, subsequently leading to the retrieval of said contraband.
