Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the opposition vehemently, asserting that the electoral performance of the Congress party in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections would reach an unprecedented nadir. PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Congress party, insinuating that Gandhi’s decision to contest from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli constituency stemmed from his apprehension of defeat in Kerala’s Wayanad, where he currently holds a seat.
In a fervent address at an election rally in Burdwan on Friday, PM Modi remarked, “The scion of the Congress, who ventured into Wayanad (Kerala) after losing the Amethi seat, now seeks refuge in Rae Bareli. He appears resigned to his fate in Wayanad this time around.” Encouraging Rahul Gandhi not to cower in fear, PM Modi quipped, “Fear not, flee not.”
Modi warned that a Congress victory would entail the reallocation of quotas for Scheduled Castes, Dalits, and Other Backward Classes to its fundamentalist vote bank, owing to the party’s policy of appeasement.
Prime Minister Modi demanded written assurance from the Congress party that it would refrain from amending the Constitution to provide reservations based on religious affiliation. Furthermore, he castigated the Trinamool Congress administration, alleging that it had relegated Hindus to second-class citizenship in West Bengal.
Addressing the ‘Vote Jihad’ controversy, PM Modi targeted the INDIA alliance, admonishing them for their alleged involvement. Notably, Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s niece, Maria Alam, faced backlash for her remarks on vote jihad. Modi accused the opposition of engaging in the game of vote jihad, while Congress and Trinamool Congress remained conspicuously silent on the matter.
The Uttar Pradesh police recently filed a case against Congress leader Salman Khurshid and his niece, Maria Alam, for purportedly endorsing ‘vote jihad’ to overthrow the BJP government, in support of INDIA alliance candidate Nabal Kishore Shakya.
Prime Minister Modi derisively commented on the opposition’s involvement in the purported Jihad game and criticized the silence of Congress and Trinamool Congress on the matter.
In a significant announcement on Friday, PM Modi declared that the West Bengal BJP unit would establish a separate legal cell to assist “authentic educators and aspirants” affected by the School Service Commission (SSC) scam. Modi expressed his desire to hold corrupt individuals in the TMC accountable while ensuring that the innocent did not suffer. He condemned the TMC’s malfeasance in school recruitment in Bengal and empathized with the genuine candidates who had been adversely affected.
PM Modi instructed the Bengal BJP unit to establish a legal cell and social media platform to support deserving candidates and educators. He pledged BJP’s unwavering support to these honest individuals, promising them legal assistance in their fight for justice.
It is worth noting that nearly 26,000 educators and non-teaching staff lost their jobs following the Calcutta High Court’s ruling that declared the recruitment process of the State Level Selection Test-2016 (SLST) in government-sponsored and aided schools in West Bengal as “null and void,” consequently annulling all appointments made through it.
