Prime Minister Narendra Modi denounced the opposition and affirmed that Congress’ count in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections will plummet to an unprecedented nadir in its electoral annals. PM Modi launched a scathing rebuke of Congress luminary Rahul Gandhi, positing that the latter’s foray into the electoral fray from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli constituency stems from an expectation of defeat in Kerala’s Wayanad, where he currently holds sway as a sitting MP.
In his address at an electoral rally in Burdwan on Friday, PM Modi remarked, “Now, the scion of Congress, who decamped to Wayanad (Kerala) subsequent to losing the Amethi constituency, has also thrown his hat into the ring in Rae Bareli. He is cognizant of his impending defeat in Wayanad this time around.” Reflecting on Rahul Gandhi’s departure from Amethi, PM Modi advised the Congress MP, “Fear not, flee not.”
Modi contended that if Congress were to clinch victory, it would expropriate quotas earmarked for Scheduled Castes, Dalits, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), bestowing them upon its jihadi electoral base courtesy of the party’s policy of appeasement.
Prime Minister Modi urged Congress to commit in writing that it would refrain from amending the Constitution to extend reservations based on religious affiliation. He also castigated the Trinamool Congress administration, alleging that the party has relegated Hindus to a subordinate status in West Bengal.
Vote Jihad Controversy: PM Modi launched a diatribe against the INDIA coalition over the vote jihad imbroglio. It bears mention that Congress luminary Salman Khurshid’s niece, Maria Alam, found herself embroiled in controversy for alluding to vote jihad. “The opposition has initiated the vote jihad gambit. Congress, Trinamool, maintain a deafening silence on this vote jihad. This INDI Alliance will stop at nothing for votes,” Modi declared.
On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh police lodged a case against Congress luminary Salman Khurshid and his niece, Maria Alam. Allegedly, Samajwadi Party stalwart Maria Alam canvassed in support of INDIA coalition candidate Nabal Kishore Shakya, advocating for ‘vote jihad’ to unseat the BJP government.
The Prime Minister wryly remarked that the opposition has kickstarted the jihad game and censured the reticence of Congress and Trinamool Congress vis-à-vis jihadists.
Legal Assistance for SSC Job Scam Victims: PM Modi announced on Friday that the West Bengal BJP unit will establish a distinct legal cell to aid “genuine educators and aspirants” who have been displaced owing to the School Service Commission (SSC) scandal. Modi emphasized that “while he seeks retribution for the TMC’s transgressions, he does not wish for the blameless to suffer… The corruption perpetrated by the TMC in Bengal’s educational recruitment is ignominious. Numerous bona fide candidates have borne the brunt of this scandal.”
The premier disclosed that he had enjoined the Bengal BJP unit to set up a legal cell and social media platform to assist authentic candidates and educators. “BJP will champion such upright candidates and will extend legal succor to their cause. This is Modi’s assurance,” he affirmed. Recall that nearly 26,000 educators and non-teaching staff lost their jobs subsequent to the Calcutta High Court nullifying the recruitment process of the State Level Selection Test-2016 (SLST) in government-sponsored and aided schools in West Bengal. The court invalidated all appointments made through this process.
