In the pursuit of securing victory in the significant Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh, namely Rae Bareli and Amethi, the Congress party has entrusted this task to several notable leaders.
The venerable political faction has nominated Rahul Gandhi for the Rae Bareli constituency, while Kishori Lal Sharma has been granted candidacy for Amethi. Notably, on the day of Rahul Gandhi’s nomination, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi declared her presence in Amethi and Rae Bareli until May 18, marking the culmination of the election campaign.
For the Amethi Lok Sabha seat, the party appointed former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as the observer, and for Rae Bareli, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel assumed the role. Additionally, the services of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar have been enlisted to bolster the campaign in Rae Bareli.
Shivakumar commenced his efforts in Rae Bareli on Tuesday to fortify Rahul Gandhi’s electoral pursuits. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge is scheduled to arrive in Rae Bareli on Wednesday, May 15. The electoral battle in Amethi and Rae Bareli is slated for May 20.
As per information released by KC Venugopal, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), star campaigners will be deployed until May 18 for the election campaign in Rae Bareli and Amethi.
A joint rally featuring Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav is slated for May 17 in both constituencies. Former Rajasthan Minister Sachin Pilot initiated his campaign here on Tuesday, May 14.
Senior leader Pappu Yadav from Bihar, following the conclusion of his campaign, has arrived in Rae Bareli and Amethi to bolster the Congress candidates’ endeavors. Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP of the Aam Aadmi Party, Sanjay Singh, alongside AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, are anticipated to contribute to the campaign at both locations.
Rajya Sabha members Pramod Tiwari, Rajya Sabha Imran Pratapgarhi, and former MLC Deepak Singh are collaborating with grassroots party workers.
It is evident that the Samajwadi Party has directed its influential leaders to actively participate in the election campaign alongside Congress on these two seats.
Dr. Manish Hindavi, Vice Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Media Department, along with his team of spokespersons, has been stationed in these two Lok Sabha constituencies for the past 10 days.
Reports suggest that the Congress Party has gleaned insights from its 2019 election strategy. Uttar Pradesh Congress spokesperson CP Rai noted that the party has reverted to its previous approach in Rae Bareli and Amethi Lok Sabha seats.
Consequently, on May 8, when Priyanka Gandhi embarked on her election campaign in Rae Bareli and Amethi, she prioritized meetings with over 3,000 grassroots workers.
Sources also indicate that Bhupesh Baghel and Ashok Gehlot are providing regular updates to Priyanka Gandhi and transmitting her directives to the party cadre.
