In Pune, a faction of BJP enthusiasts unleashed ink and vandalized the windows of the vehicle transporting journalist Nikhil Wagle on the eve of Friday. A visual depiction of the occurrence purportedly reveals BJP adherents encircling the automobile, hurling ink at the conveyance, and shattering its windshield and window panels with metallic rods.
The assembly was also vocalizing slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ Meanwhile, Wagle affirmed via a post on ‘X’ that the assembly would proceed as planned, regardless of the circumstances. He also conveyed that his team currently finds itself encircled by high-ranking law enforcement officials.
“Regardless of the circumstances, the assembly will transpire. Presently, we find ourselves encircled by high-ranking law enforcement officials,” declared the veteran journalist. Wagle additionally disseminated details on ‘X’ regarding a colloquy scheduled for Friday at Pune’s Nilu Phule Auditorium. Eminent speakers, including actor-filmmaker Amol Palekar, Asim Sarode, and Reshma Ramchandra, are slated to participate alongside him.
Earlier in the day, BJP adherents were observed demonstrating against Wagle in Pune. Law enforcement was seen detaining and apprehending the demonstrators, who vociferated slogans in favor of BJP stalwart LK Advani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Modi, in a prior announcement, divulged that the esteemed BJP figure and former Deputy PM, LK Advani, would be honored with the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s most prestigious civilian accolade.
