The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Trust has rebutted the assertion of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding President Droupadi Murmu’s nonattendance at the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony due to her tribal heritage, dismissing it as “erroneous, unfounded, and perplexing”.
The trust censured Rahul for leveling accusations devoid of factual verification and expressed concern that such statements could sow seeds of discrimination in society.
Strongly contesting the allegations, trust secretary general Champat Rai elucidated that both Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind had received invitations to the momentous event of consecrating Ram Lalla in January. He emphasized that individuals from diverse segments of society, including saints, figures from the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Class communities, as well as those who have distinguished themselves in various fields and brought glory to India, were extended invitations to the ceremony.
Rai further elaborated that even laborers and members of minority groups contributing to the temple were involved in the proceedings. Additionally, numerous families from underprivileged backgrounds were afforded the opportunity to worship at the “Goodh Mandap” of the Ram Mandir.
He rebuked the Congress leader for making disparaging comments without conducting thorough research.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony took place on January 22, with the Prime Minister overseeing the ritual conducted by a cadre of priests. Individuals from all faiths and spiritual traditions were welcomed to partake in the occasion.
