Saharanpur: Just hours before the cessation of campaigning for the initial phase of Lok Sabha elections, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi conducted a roadshow in support of INDIA bloc candidate Imran Masood on Wednesday.
The roadshow traversed approximately 2 kilometers through areas with a substantial Muslim populace. Commencing from the Jain Bagh precinct, it journeyed through Raiwala, JBS Inter College, Kamboh Bridge, and culminated in the vicinity of the Qutub Sher police station.
Although the Congress leader was set to visit the Gurudwara on Gurudwara Road, administrative constraints precluded her from proceeding. In a post on X, Gandhi articulated, “The affection I have received from the residents of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is profoundly touching. Their fervor, exuberance, and ardor signal impending transformation.”
“Those disenchanted by joblessness and inflation are starting to envision potential for change. This fervor embodies that optimism. The decline of the BJP, which has oppressed the populace, is inevitable. India shall unite, and India shall prevail,” she elaborated.
Adorned in a pink saree and perched atop an open vehicle alongside Imran Masood, Gandhi greeted the onlookers lining the thoroughfare with clasped hands. She acknowledged the crowds, which included women in burqas, waving in response.
In addition to the Congress tricolor flags and balloons, banners of the Samajwadi Party were carried by fervent supporters accompanying the Congress leader’s convoy, with vibrant decorations gracing the surroundings.
Delighted to witness their leader in their community, locals showered the scene with blossoms and confetti from above. The administration meticulously organized robust security measures to safeguard the dignitaries during the roadshow.
