In the urban expanse of Lucknow, a calamitous event unfolded, claiming the lives of five individuals while inflicting injuries upon four others. The tragedy transpired at approximately 10:30 pm on a Tuesday in the Hata Hazrat Saheb ward of Kakori town. The catalyst for this distressing incident was the detonation of two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, triggered by an electrical short circuit.
Shakeel Ahmed, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Kakori, relayed that the unfortunate episode unfolded during the commemoration of Zardozi artisan Musheer, also known as Puttu’s, wedding anniversary. Musheer (50), his spouse Husn Bano (45), brother-in-law Ajmad’s two young daughters Uma (4) and Hina (2), as well as niece Raiya (7) and daughter Bablu, were among the attendees in the residence.
The detonation of the nearby cylinders, instigated by the short circuit, not only resulted in the consumption of the lives of Musheer, Husn Bano, Uma, Hina, and Raiya but also led to the collapse of the house’s roof. Four individuals were grievously burned in the aftermath.
Sources confirm that Musheer’s daughter Isha (17), Lakab (21), Ajmad (34), and Bablu’s daughter Anam (18) suffered severe injuries during the incident. Promptly responding to the crisis, the police contingent, accompanied by three fire brigade vehicles, arrived at the scene and successfully brought the conflagration under control.
