In the midst of the constable recruitment examination conducted in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, an extraordinary event unfolded on Sunday – a woman, identified as Sunita from Patan village in the Bighapur police station vicinity of Unnao, gave birth.
Sunita, determined to take her exam at Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Mission Inter College in Kanchan Nagar, Ganga Ghat Kotwali area, found herself grappling with the onset of labor pain while engrossed in her paper.
Displaying resilience, she promptly sought assistance from the invigilator, who swiftly notified the center administrator and higher-ups about the precarious situation. Subsequently, an urgent transfer to the nearest health center ensued. In a unique turn of events, as no female health professionals were on-site, male healthcare providers took charge, escorting her to the delivery room and offering support throughout the childbirth process, resulting in the birth of a baby girl.
Post-delivery, the woman’s kin received notification and made their way to the hospital. They shared the poignant detail that Sunita’s husband, Deepu, had tragically lost his life in a road accident in September 2023. Undeterred by the challenges, Sunita, even in the throes of advanced pregnancy, remained steadfast in her commitment to the exam, driven by the aspiration for employment. Both mother and child were reported to be in good health despite the unconventional circumstances.
