Amidst the political fervor in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, made a bold proclamation on Saturday. He confidently asserted that the impending third phase of polling, slated for May 7, would mark the beginning of the end for the BJP in the region. According to Yadav, the BJP’s downfall is inevitable, attributing it to their penchant for hollow rhetoric and unfulfilled promises across all segments of society.
Addressing a crowd gathered in Nadha town within the Budaun Lok Sabha constituency, Yadav articulated, “Come May 7, the electorate will resoundingly reject the BJP. This phase of the election will be their undoing. In the preceding phases, the people have already shown their disdain for the BJP, and now, they are poised to administer the final blow.”
He further elaborated on the BJP’s shortcomings, stating, “Their demise is imminent because their words ring hollow. Over the past decade, their assurances and pledges have consistently proven to be devoid of substance.”
Yadav highlighted the plight of farmers under the BJP’s rule, remarking, “Despite their promises to double farmers’ income, the reality is starkly different. Farmers find themselves grappling with meager profits that fail to keep pace with inflation. The government has failed to ensure fair compensation for their produce.”
Expressing solidarity with the protesting farmers, Yadav commended their resilience in the face of adversity. “The BJP’s nefarious agenda, epitomized by the enactment of the three contentious agricultural laws, aimed to disenfranchise farmers and strip them of their land rights. Yet, our farmers exhibited remarkable resolve, staging protests in the heart of Delhi until the government was compelled to repeal these draconian laws.”
Asserting his party’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, Yadav pledged, “Under the leadership of the INDI Alliance and the Samajwadi Party, we vow to enshrine the minimum support price (MSP) as a legal right for our agrarian brethren. Furthermore, we pledge to alleviate the burden of debt weighing on their shoulders by implementing a comprehensive loan waiver program.”
In closing, Yadav emphasized the importance of equitable policies, stating, “If industrialists can benefit from loan waivers, why should our hardworking farmers be denied the same privilege?” As the electoral battleground heats up, the residents of Budaun eagerly await the opportunity to exercise their democratic right on May 7, with the Samajwadi Party’s Aditya Yadav emerging as a formidable contender for the seat.
