In a startling revelation from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, it has been uncovered that a young man hailing from Delhi had entered into matrimony with yet another woman, concealing his previous two marriages. Shockingly, after a brief cohabitation period, he absconded with the dowry wealth and precious ornaments, employing the dubious means of ‘triple talaq’ via courier, as divulged by a police official on Sunday.
Prompted by the aggrieved woman’s complaint, authorities at the Chowk Police station swiftly initiated legal proceedings against the accused, Hasan Akbar Zaidi, and three clerics (Maulanas) allegedly involved in fabricating the divorce document, disclosed police station in-charge, Nageshwar Upadhyay.
Investigations have revealed the involvement of three Maulanas – Mohammad Haider, Imtiaz Hussain Hydari, and Sakhawat Ali – in the concoction of the counterfeit divorce papers.
Per the victim’s narrative detailed in the complaint, she entered into wedlock with Zaidi, a resident of Delhi, on June 15, 2023, at Shahnajaf Imambara Hazratganj, unaware of his prior marital bonds.
Post-wedding rituals, Zaidi escorted her to an elegant residence in the Chinhat area, where the ordeal began. Allegedly, from the inception of their conjugal journey, Zaidi subjected her to physical abuse under the pretext of dowry demands and hurled demeaning remarks. Subsequently, on July 15, 2023, he absconded to Delhi, laden with dowry, valuables, and cash.
The victim asserts that on December 13, 2023, she received an envelope via courier, containing the dreaded declaration of ‘triple talaq,’ authored by Zaidi.
Struggling to make ends meet by tutoring children, the victim laments the toll on her mental well-being. Nageshwar Upadhyay reassures that law enforcement is diligently probing the matter. It’s noteworthy that the instant pronouncement of triple talaq is outlawed in India.
