In a sorrowful occurrence, three individuals met their demise while seven others sustained injuries subsequent to a collision between a tractor trolley, conveying them, and a swiftly moving truck in the precincts of Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, as reported by authorities on Monday. The incident unfolded during the nocturnal hours of Sunday along the thoroughfare of Anupshahar Gawan Road within the jurisdiction of Rajpura Police Station, they recounted.
The law enforcement officials indicated that the deceased were natives of Ladanpur village, situated within the purview of Kaila Devi Police Station, and were on their way back from a funeral when the calamity struck. The tractor bore the brunt of the collision, resulting in its complete wreckage, while the truck capsized. Remarkably, the driver of the truck escaped unscathed.
Upon receiving notification, law enforcement promptly arrived at the scene, initiating a concerted effort to extricate the casualties. Subsequently, the wounded were transported to the governmental medical facility for requisite medical attention. The trio who perished were identified as Mahipal, Karu, and Ghasi. Naresh, one of the injured parties, recounted that all individuals involved were journeying homeward subsequent to participating in the final rites of a relative when the vehicular collision occurred.
Earlier, in a separate incident, three individuals succumbed to their injuries following a collision between the vehicle they occupied and a truck in the precincts of Bhagalpur district, Bihar. The mishap unfolded in the vicinity of Jyoti Dhaba, proximate to Makandpur Chowk, within the jurisdiction of Navgachiya Police Station in the district.
