Lucknow: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has affirmed the escalation of measures against mafias and felons in the state. “It behooves us to safeguard the rights of each impoverished, exploited, subjugated, and disadvantaged individual. Whether confronting land syndicates or any other criminal network, decisive action shall ensue,” declared the Chief Minister during a late-night rendezvous with officials.
In his inaugural post-2024 Lok Sabha election law and order evaluation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to engage, align, and cultivate public trust. “Public interaction initiatives must be expeditiously instituted at the district, division, and sector levels,” he underscored, emphasizing a no-tolerance stance on malfeasance, ensuring rigorous measures against illicit dealings from the state’s central bureaucracy to local governance.
Conducting a comprehensive assessment of law and order via virtual conferencing with police commissioners, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and police superintendents, the Chief Minister deprecated the fostering of VIP entitlements, advocating punitive measures against the deployment of sirens and loud vehicular horns in official and private conveyances.
He further advocated for the preservation of tranquility and amity during forthcoming celebrations. “Authorities must uphold religious sanctity while eschewing endorsement of novel customs,” he remarked.
Highlighting the upcoming observances such as Ganga Dussehra on June 16, Bakrid on June 17, Jyeshtha month’s Mangal festival on June 18, and International Yoga Day on June 21, followed by Moharram and the Kanwar Yatra in July, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath impelled round-the-clock governmental and administrative vigilance.
Regarding the impending Bakrid observances, he enjoined that public prayer not transpire on thoroughfares and threatened reprisal against the slaughter of proscribed animals. “The location for sacrificial rites should be predetermined, with adherence to designated areas, precluding controversial or contentious sites,” he expounded. “Officials must ensure proscribed fauna aren’t sacrificed. An organized strategy for post-sacrificial waste disposal must be effectuated across all districts,” he appended.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath enjoined officials to preempt occurrences that might offend religious sensitivities within the state.
