New Delhi: Luxurious smartphone gross sales within the nation have elevated in current quarters with the rise in disposable earnings amid a premiumisation development, trade consultants stated on Tuesday.
In line with Counterpoint Analysis, shipments of smartphones priced at Rs 1 lakh and above grew 20 per cent year-on-year within the first quarter of the present calendar 12 months and 10 per cent within the second quarter. The market share of the Rs 1 lakh and above section stood at a bit of over one per cent within the first half of this 12 months.
Tarun Pathak, Director, Counterpoint Analysis, stated, “This share is anticipated to extend marginally within the second half with the arrival of Samsung Galaxy foldables and the brand new Apple iPhone collection.” He additional stated that in 2021, luxurious or super-premium smartphone gross sales within the nation grew by 14 per cent. Subsequent 12 months in 2022, it grew by 96 per cent and in 2023 by 53 per cent. In 2023, Samsung can have a 52 % share within the super-premium smartphone market, whereas Apple’s share can be 46 %.
