Chandigarh: Following the apprehension of Delhi’s Principal Administrator, Arvind Kejriwal, by the Enforcement Directorate concerning the Alcohol Strategy issue, Punjab’s Premier, Bhagwant Singh Mann, embarked on a journey to Delhi, where he is slated to convene a specialized press briefing, as per sources.

In a sequence of remarkable incidents, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Executive of Delhi, was detained by the ED at his official residence during the twilight hours of March 21 in connection with the liquor strategy litigation. The ED squad arrived for the tenth time to summon him. Subsequent to the detention, Kejriwal was conveyed to the ED headquarters. Medical practitioners from RML Hospital arrived and carried out a medical assessment. Kejriwal spent the evening in ED’s holding cell.

The AAP has announced nationwide demonstrations on Friday, March 22, against Kejriwal’s detention by the ED.

Premier Mann to Conduct Media Gathering in Delhi: Punjab’s Premier, Bhagwant Mann, has also commenced his voyage to Delhi, where he is set to conduct a press conference at noon. Prior to his arrival in Delhi, Premier Mann criticized the BJP-led government at the national level.

In a social media post on X, Mann penned, “You may detain Arvind Kejriwal, but how will you restrain his ideology? Arvind Kejriwal transcends mere individuality; he embodies an ideology, and we remain steadfastly supportive of our leader. Long live the movement”.

Kejriwal to Appear Before High Court Today: Following his arrest in the Liquor Policy lawsuit, the ED will present Kejriwal before the High Court today to obtain his custody. Delhi Minister Atishi asserted that Kejriwal will retain his position as the Chief Administrator of Delhi and will administer the governance from confinement.

SC to Adjudicate Delhi CM’s Petition: The Supreme Court has consented to examine the petition filed by Delhi’s Principal Administrator, Arvind Kejriwal, against his apprehension by the ED. Additionally, the SC is deliberating a petition submitted by BRS leader K Kavita, who is currently under ED detention in the same case.

AAP Authorities Apprehended: On Friday, the Delhi Police detained several AAP officials, including Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi, during their demonstration against the BJP regarding Kejriwal’s arrest in the Liquor Policy case.
