Dornakal: Move beyond standard breathalyzer examinations to identify those operating vehicles while impaired by alcohol. The Telangana State Police has initiated ‘drug and drive tests’ aimed at detecting drivers under the influence of narcotics on the state’s thoroughfares.
The law enforcement agency has elected to administer tests with the ‘Ebon Urine Cup’ device, primarily to identify marijuana users among the motoring populace. The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) has prepared specialized test kits to combat substance misuse among drivers. These kits have been dispatched to all police precincts for immediate utilization.
A police representative noted that personnel are receiving focused training to discern drug users with the assistance of this technology. Inspections have already commenced within certain police jurisdictions.
As an element of the concentrated initiative against drug-related issues among drivers, Dornakal CI Upendra Rao and SI Santosh Rao executed drug and drive examinations in Dornakal on Monday, April 15. Garla SI Jeenath Kumar also performed screenings on young individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior near the railway station and bus terminal.
