Controversial Moves: Outrage Over Viral Mumbai Train Dance

The trend of making reels, singing and dancing inside the metro trains for attention has become a common scenario. Undoubtedly, it generates hype among the social media users but such reckless acts often creates public nuisance. One such clip has has surfaced on the internet showing a young woman dancing to a Bhojpuri song inside a moving local train in Mumbai. The post has mustered 7,000 likes on X (Formerly Twitter). The clip shows a woman, dressed in a black crop top and a skirt, getting up from her seat and dancing to a Bhojpuri number. Her dance moves catches the attention of all the passengers in the coach. Several people criticised the woman and called the act vulgar.

“Do not allow such vulgar activities in public places. Railway must maintain some decorum of the system. Put marshals and penalise the individual who engages in such activity,” said a user.

Another echoing similar sentiment, wrote, “This kind of obscenity is day by day increasing in trains and metros. How/Why no one is taking any action against such vulgar dancing.”

“This is too much. I think it shouldn’t be allowed in a moving train in full public view. What’s wrong with these influencers,” commented a user.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate has ordered the Central Railway Security Department to look into the incident and take necessary action, as per NDTV report.

In 2023, a similar video went viral. The video showed a woman dressed in a shining blue dress confidently performing within the limits of a crowded coach. The fellow passengers recorded the performance.

While some users lauded her confidence, others weren’t so impressed. A user wrote, “I need this much amount of confidence in life.”

Another person said, “I know most will judge this from appropriateness and age perspective, but if looked at from performance, entertainment, confidence, skill perspective, I think it’s a 10/10 and the girl is thoroughly enjoying it, the confidence level is 11/10 – hope she auditions on a better platform.”

A user wrote, “Band karo main haath jod kar Aapse gujarish karat hoon.” Another commented, “Kaise Kar lete hai log ye sab mujhse toh calls bhi nhi uthaye jate kisi ke samne.”
