Reports circulating in the media reveal the capture of Abhijeet Abhijeet, aged 26, and his elder brother, Robin Gartan, aged 27, on the recent Tuesday within the rural confines of New South Wales’ Goulburn. The Goulburn Post has relayed information indicating that preparations are underway for their extradition to Victoria.

The fugitive brothers had remained elusive since the early hours of the preceding Sunday, following a distressing incident in Ormond, a suburb nestled in Melbourne’s southeast, wherein Navjeet Sandhu of Noble Park met a tragic end, while a 30-year-old compatriot from the same locality sustained injuries. Revelations from Thursday’s legal proceedings unveiled the indictment of Gartan on charges of murder and attempted murder, juxtaposed with Abhijeet’s arraignment for affray.

Presented before the scrutiny of the Goulburn Local Court on Thursday morning, the duo’s transfer to Victorian jurisdiction was decreed. Scheduled to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday, their fate now rests within the confines of legal scrutiny. Emergency services were summoned to the domicile along North Road at approximately 1 am, following reports of a tumultuous altercation.

According to the bereaved uncle, Yashvir, residing in Karnal, Haryana, Navjeet succumbed to a fatal assault with a bladed weapon while attempting to mediate a dispute between fellow Indian students, stemming from a pecuniary discord. “Navjeet’s comrade, another Indian scholar, implored his assistance in retrieving personal effects from his residence, utilizing Navjeet’s vehicular conveyance. Upon entry, Navjeet was aghast by the altercation unfolding before him. Tragically, his noble intervention was met with a fatal thrust to the thoracic cavity,” lamented Yashvir.

Furthermore, Yashvir divulged that the alleged perpetrators share ancestral ties with Navjeet, hailing from the same town of Karnal. The comrade accompanying Navjeet also sustained injuries during the altercation, elucidated the grieving uncle, who delineated the injured individual’s marital bond with the female resident, juxtaposed with the fraternal bond shared with the deceased. A weapon was discovered within the premises and is slated for forensic examination.
