Inaugurating the newly unveiled BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi drew a staggering crowd of more than 65,000 devotees on its initial public opening, as per an official communiqué.

As the sacred edifice unfurled its doors, a convoy of over 40,000 attendees, arriving both by bus and car, fervently engaged in morning devotions. Another 25,000 joined in the evening, forming organized groups of 2,000 devotees per batch, demonstrating a commendable display of serenity amid the vast assembly, refraining from any undue pushing or shoving.

The day concluded with an impressive tally of 65,000 individuals who had visited the temple, leaving with a sense of divine tranquility. Meandering through the temple, visitors were enveloped in a blessed ambiance, marking the occasion with an overwhelming attendance of 65,000 souls. Those who graced the temple with their presence conveyed joy for its unveiling, commending the meticulous management by the BAPS volunteers and temple staff.

Addressing the event, Sumant Rai of Abu Dhabi remarked, “I have never witnessed such impeccable order amidst a multitude. Despite my concerns about enduring long waits for peaceful darshan, the experience was remarkable. Kudos to the BAPS volunteers and temple staff.”

Sharing her visit experience, Pravina Shah from London stated, “Despite the immense crowd, the staff’s exceptional care towards thousands of visitors, including those with disabilities like myself, was noteworthy. Witnessing orderly transitions between different zones was truly impressive.”

Anticipating being engulfed in a sea of people, Balchandra from Kerala expressed, “The visit was impeccably managed. I enjoyed a serene darshan, and I eagerly await my next visit.”

The temple statement highlighted visitors’ participation in collective prayers and admiration for the intricate architecture during darshan. The fervor in partaking in religious rituals like abhishek and arti evoked emotional responses, as attendees experienced a profound sense of peace. The vibrant array of clothing worn by visitors created a kaleidoscope of colors, contributing to the festive ambiance. Traveling from afar, attendees found their expectations surpassed by the joy and serenity encountered.

Additionally, long-time Dubai residents Neha and Pankaj exclaimed, “The Mandir has exceeded all our expectations. It’s a true marvel. We feel blessed to have a place for prayers and spiritual connection.”

Piyush from Portland, USA, remarked, “The Mandir’s opening symbolizes the UAE’s commitment to diversity and inclusion—a beautiful representation of unity among diverse communities.”

Louis from Mexico expressed, “The architectural details in the stones are amazing, offering a glimpse into India’s rich cultural heritage. Come and join the experience!”

In reflection of the historic Sunday opening for the public, Sadhu Bramhaviharidas expressed gratitude to the UAE leaders and local authorities for their support, acknowledging the patience and understanding of the pilgrims during their visit.

The Mandir, a symbol of spiritual unity and harmony, signifies the enduring friendship between India and the UAE. Recognizing this, the UAE government introduced a new bus route (203) from Abu Dhabi to the Mandir, facilitating weekend visits.

The majestic BAPS temple, Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu stone temple, inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on February 14, stands as a testament to cultural inclusivity, interfaith harmony, and community collaboration, embodying the deep bond between India and the UAE.
