An individual of Indian descent, purportedly involved in threatening Post Office staff in Hounslow, west London, for the purpose of purloining a substantial sum of money, has been formally accused of robbery and the possession of a simulated firearm, as per the announcement by Scotland Yard on Monday.
Rajvinder Kahlon, aged 41, was apprehended at his residential abode the previous week, subsequent to the incident at the Post Office located on Brabazon Road in Hounslow, transpiring on April 1. The Metropolitan Police disclosed that its Flying Squad operatives swiftly attended to the situation upon receiving reports, with detectives managing to ascertain the identity of the alleged perpetrator.
At approximately 1800hrs on April 1, an individual entered the Post Office situated on Brabazon Road, Hounslow. The individual menaced two staff members with what they perceived to be a firearm before absconding with a significant sum of money, as stated by the Met Police in a declaration.
Promptly responding, members of the Flying Squad initiated action, and detectives employed various strategies to pinpoint a suspect. Subsequently, on Thursday, April 4, Rajvinder Kahlon, aged 41, was taken into custody at his residence in Hounslow.
He made an appearance at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 6, where he was formally charged with robbery and the possession of an imitation firearm, the statement appended. Kahlon remains detained and is scheduled to make his next appearance at Isleworth Crown Court in west London on May 6.
