Saudi Arabia has said that it has told the US that there will be no diplomatic ties with Israel unless an independent Palestinian state is recognised on the 1967 borders.

 

In a proclamation issued on Wednesday, Saudi Arabia communicated to the United States its unwavering stance: diplomatic relations with Israel shall not materialize unless an autonomous Palestinian entity is duly acknowledged along the delineations of 1967, encompassing East Jerusalem. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia underscored the imperative cessation of what it deems Israeli “hostility” toward the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday, a declaration from White House National Security spokesperson John Kirby disclosed that the United States has been informed of a potential inclination from Saudi Arabia and Israel to recommence discussions toward normalization, as relayed by the Reuters news agency.

In response to the assertions attributed to the U.S. National Security Spokesperson, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs articulated the unwavering position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the Arab-Israeli peace process.
