Our hope is that we’ll have news of his whereabouts soon,” stated the Consulate of India in Chicago via social media.

Rupesh, a native of Telangana state, is currently enrolled in a master’s program at Concordia University, Wisconsin. His family became alarmed upon learning of his disappearance, prompting them to reach out to the Ministry of External Affairs of India and the United States Embassy to aid in the search for their son.

This unfortunate incident is not isolated, as there have been similar occurrences throughout the US this year. Tragically, several Indian nationals and individuals of Indian descent have lost their lives in various incidents including attacks and abductions, with some hailing from Telugu states. The US government has acknowledged these events, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the safety of international students within its borders.
