In Rewari, Haryana, the lamentable incident of a boiler explosion at a spare parts manufacturing facility resulted in the tragic demise of four laborers, while over 10 others find themselves in critical condition, as per the report from the authorities on Wednesday. Regrettably, three individuals succumbed to their injuries at the PGIMS hospital in Rohtak during the night of Tuesday, with another unfortunate soul passing away at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, confirmed Inspector Jagdish Chander.
The names of the deceased are Ajay (32), Vijay (37), Ramu (27), and Rajesh (38), hailing from the state of Uttar Pradesh. This calamitous event unfolded at the manufacturing facility nestled within the Dharuhera industrial zone last Saturday.
A senior law enforcement official disclosed that a total of 40 workers sustained burn injuries during the mishap. Among them, 10 laborers received medical attention at the Rewari Trauma Centre, while over 20 were rushed to PGIMS Rohtak. Four others were transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, with the remainder receiving treatment in Dharuhera. Fortunately, five individuals have since been discharged from the medical facilities.
The authorities took swift action by registering a case related to the boiler explosion on Sunday. The responsible contractor and others implicated have been formally charged in connection with the incident. The First Information Report (FIR) stemmed from a grievance filed by Raj Kumar, a laborer hailing from Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh. Responding to the gravity of the situation, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini promptly initiated an investigation under the purview of a sub-divisional magistrate.
